Vulnerable Friends

Lately, my readers and my in-person friends have been getting increasingly open with me. I met with an entrepreneur Twitter friend tonight for dinner and I asked how his business was going.

"Usually I have canned responses for different people in my life. But to tell you the truth, I feel emotionally fragile for the first time in my life."

That is the coolest thing ever. I don't know what has changed in the last 4 months, for me to be attracting such honest, human folks, but thank you. Thank you to those who have emailed me or DMed me after reading a post here. Thank you to those who have shared your struggles. I see myself in every single one of them.

And if you live in Austin, I would love to meet you for tacos too. We don't have to get personal! But I, like KA/RA, will meet you deeply, and if that sounds delightful to you, DM me.

PS- When I meet people from Twitter for the first time, I always get nervous beforehand. I always think that this time it's not going to go well. But it always does! We laugh and enjoy great food and it's okay if we're both awkward, it usually adds to the charm. So if you want to reach out but you feel nervous that it'll go poorly, just reach out anyway. Chances are, it'll go just fine. :)
