Comparing to the best? Nah, it's better w/ the rest.

My friend Melissa gifted me with a gorgeous watercolor painting yesterday.

"I'm the top watercolor painter in my class," Melissa said.

"Wow, how did you get to that point?" I asked.

"I think I have a natural eye for it. But I never thought of myself like that, because my sister is such a better artist than me. She's elite; I mean West Elm just placed an order for her custom vases.

So I've always compared myself to her, instead of normal people. And when I compare to the general public, it's like, wow, I'm actually a pretty good artist, aren't I?"

Yeah, she is.
