22 marathons before winning a medal

I just finished reading Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, which is currently the #1 bestselling fiction book on Amazon's charts (#2 is the sequel).

I spent hours every night taking notes on and highlighting most of the pages, detailing, in awe, her deep grasp of technique. She has studied her craft like crazy and put in the hours to make mastery look effortless.

I could tell this was definitely not her first rodeo. Turns out, it's her 22nd! TWENTY TWO BOOKS before she hit it big. She says she was completely surprised by Fourth Wing's success.

I'm so fucking inspired by her.
